A/N: The last in the Korea series, I wrote this on the plane too…thinking about Something’s Gotta Give, in which the protagonists find love after, er, a long time..I’m not describing myself, though some of it may have been from my experiences (;))—I think I’m naïve, but not that naïve. So..yeah. Will you? *smiles slightly* One will never know…and I think that, in this poem, I kinda interpreted the quote the wrong way..”to have loved and lost, than never to have loved before.” I focused more on true love and waiting to be loved, so if it seems a bit strange, my apologies. *rueful*“It’s better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.”
Such a cliché.
But ‘tis a cliché she holds dear,
She whose mother has preached,
That the key to happiness is
A guy who loves her
More than she does him.
She scoffs at the
Absurdity of it all.
So she waits,
Not even sure what she waits for.
Couples saunter by, seen
Through the glass panel of the tea house,
Hands in the back pockets
Of each other’s jeans.
She chews the tip of her pen
Contemplatively, as across the page,
The glance of two in the room meet,
And she dreams, smiling slightly.
A pair enjoys a quiet moment
On the wooden bench
Of an isolated street.
Will you wait for true love?
